At Hope Christian College we offer Year 10 students the opportunity to experience and gain an appreciation for cultures outside of Australia.

Annually, during the term 3 break, a team of staff and students visit a poor community in Manila, Philippines. Time is spent assisting in King Solomon Christian School teaching children about Australia, visiting sponsored children in their homes, running a church service and spending a day immersed with a Filipino family experiencing a day in their life. The team also has the opportunity to visit some tourist attractions.

The main purpose of this trip is to expose our students to a new and different culture and to empower them to make a change in an impoverished part of the world. We also hope they come away with a greater appreciation of their life in Australia.

Every trip thus far has seen team members impacted and passionate about making a change either through sponsoring a child themselves or by raising awareness within the local community of the needs of those poor in the Philippines.
